Whats up in room 17 ?

Room 17 have been working hard this year on inquiry, maths and writing.

Inquiry:
In inquiry we have been learning about colour in the living world and how humans use colour.

Maths:
In maths we are learning about fractions and basic facts. With fractions we are learning to cut shapes into fractions, add fractions, subtract fractions, multiply fractions and read fractions.  With basic facts we are learning our level of basic facts off by heart.

Writing:
In writing we are working on arguementitive writing.  So far we have argued on banning halloween, children should always agree with their teachers and children should go to school on Saturday.

So now you know whats up in Room 17!

Halloween

Trick-or-treat should stay!
Mrs French you are wrong, trick-or-treat should stay.
1.  Because we need candy or we will just fall asleep at school.  Do you really want that to happen?
2. You don't have to pay for the lollies, so why not.
3.I bet when you were little you liked trick-or-treating.
4.That means you don't like candy.
I think you're wrong and I'm right.
5.If you give us no candy we will die!  Die I tell you.
Thats why I think I'm right.

When the Irish Rugby Team Came

Last Friday, we had a school assembly and the Irish Rugby Team came.  We got to do the haka.  I felt scared.  They gave us a school rugby ball.  It was from the Irish Rugby Team.  After school, me and Matt and Alex went into Room 6 and we got some posters and a flag and some pens.  We got a photo with the rugby team and they signed my flag and they signed our posters.

Rain

Rain is beautiful,
it soaks through my umbrella,
I get drenched a lot.

Colour

What if everything was green.  What do you think would happen?

Tongue Twister

Sammy the snake saw a slippery slide.  He said to the super slug, "I'm scared of the slippery slide."  Sammy slid down the slide.  That is super.

Worms

I don't like worms.  Worms are wiggly and slimy.  Worms are pinky red.  Worms are cool.  Worms like wet water.  Worms help the garden.  Worms die fast.

My Dad

My Dad has eyes so sparkly.  He has hair so spiky.  Ouch, it is so prickly like thorns.  He is so snuggly, he is like a teddy bear.  He is quite lazy.  He watches t.v.  I love my teddy bear Dad!

Worms

Worms are wiggly.  They are pinky red.  Worms are cool because they help the garden.  I jump and screw up my face when I see worms.  They have no eyes or legs or arms.  They live underground.  They are fat sometimes.  They die fast because you can stand on them.

My Beautiful Classroom

I like the beautiful classroom.  I don't want to leave ever.  I am bursting with excitment.  It is not a lot of work.  The light shines in my eyes.  It is cool.  I love maths and writing.  I like writing because you can do a bubble plan.

My Favourite Shop

Four Square is my favourite shop in the world.  Sometimes my Mum takes me to Four Square and gets me a bubble gum ice block.  It tastes like ice cream blowing everywhere in my mouth.  I love Four Square.

The School Fair

Whippy!  Whip!  Yip!  That's what I'll sound like before the fair.  I'll explode with excitement!  Burst with fun in the sumo suit.  Yes, the one thing I want to play.  But last time I got a bleeding nose so I won't go hard out as usual.  Ow, ow, ow is what I said all the way home.

My Dream Job

When I grow up, I want to become a mad scientist.  I will work with Louis Wilson.  I could make anything!!!  I could make movies come to life!  I could make poison that you could drink!  (It'll taste of lemonade!)  I might make a beast bike!  (It'll transform on you by surprise!)  My lab will be full of a patchwork of poisons.

The School Fair

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, I just can't wait till the school fair.  Two more days, I hope they go quickly, as quickly as possible.  I want to find one million dollars the day before the school fair because there are yummy, delicious, scrumptious cakes and fabulous muffins and other delicious foods.
There is a fashion parade.  what you do is you go to the room where there are heaps of clothes everywhere, sometimes they take up two rooms.  You get in the clothes so you look funny, then you walk down the Room 13 ramp in your fancy clothing and you might get a prize.

My Dream Job

Hmmmmm...  I wonder what I might be when I grow up?  Maybe I might just be an inventor?  Or a rock climbing professional?  Maybe a teacher at a tree climbing academy?  If I am an inventor I will probably work with my friend Ella, with two benches on the wall and six test tubes, a pin board, white lab coats, goggles and a bright red cupboard with deadly poisons in it.
